Estate presentation
Emmanuel Darnaud is one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic winemakers in northern France. Rhône. He is also fortunate to have as his father-in-law Bernard Faurie, the legendary producer ofHermitage.
Based in Pont de l'Isère, in the south of the appellation, he has now accumulated 15 hectares, on what he identifies as six different terroirs. The 6 parcels are vinified separately, and have enabled three different aging regimes, in oak of three different sizes (hence the name of his flagship wine Les Trois Chênes).
Its powerful Crozes Hermitage wines are rich, relatively tannic and with a good level of balanced acidity, seductive notes of tapenade and sweet blackberry. They are aged in 50 % new oak barrels.
Since its first vintage in 2001, Darnaud has developed a very fruity style of Crozes wine, with a seductive bouquet and an almost ethereal fragrance combining olives, violets and blackberries.
